My services

I'm Dr. Nicole Labor, a physician board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and communities better understand addiction and recovery.

My professional background includes hospital-based addiction medicine, residential and outpatient treatment programs, medication-assisted treatment, medical education, and program development. I have served as a medical director for multiple addiction treatment organizations, founded an Addiction Medicine Fellowship program, and have provided addiction education to healthcare systems, treatment centers, courts, schools, employers, and community organizations across the country.

I also bring a personal perspective to this work. I have been in long-term recovery since 2005, an experience that has shaped both my career and my commitment to reducing stigma through education.

My mission is simple: improve addiction literacy.

Too many people—including patients, families, employers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers—are making decisions about addiction without a clear understanding of what it is, how it develops, and what recovery actually looks like. Through courses, books, speaking engagements, and professional training programs, I aim to make the science of addiction understandable, practical, and accessible.

Whether you are here to learn for yourself, support someone you love, strengthen your professional skills, or improve addiction awareness within your organization, welcome. I'm glad you're here.
